G'day everyone. So I've been looking at repo auctions for a while now, trying to find a decent car without paying dealer markup. Kept seeing ODI Motors pop up in my searches but couldn't find heaps of reviews online. Finally took the plunge last month and won a bid on a 2019 Mazda CX-5. I was honestly pretty nervous about the whole thing – never done an online auction before and wasn't sure if it was legit. But the car arrived last week and I'm actually really happy with it. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is on the fence like I was. Process was smoother than I expected tbh.

Congrats on the purchase mate! I've bought three vehicles through odimotors.com over the past two years – a ute, a sedan, and a boat. Never had any dramas. The delivery process is pretty straightforward and they've always given me accurate condition reports. Welcome to the club lol

This is reassuring to hear! I've been eyeing a 2020 Subaru Outback on their site but was worried about buying sight unseen. Did your CX-5 match the description pretty closely?

Yeah it did actually. There were a couple tiny scratches on the bonnet that were hard to see in the photos but nothing major at all. Overall the condition was spot on with what they listed. I was worried about the title too but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through and the clear title arrived with the vehicle during delivery. No chasing anything down which was a relief.

The title thing is legit. I bought a 2018 Ford Ranger from ODI Motors in January and all the paperwork came through perfectly. No dramas with registration transfer either. They handle all that side of things which takes the stress out of it imo

I'm a mobile mechanic and I've inspected two vehicles for mates who bought from ODI Motors after delivery. Both times the vehicles were exactly as described in the auction listing. One was a 2017 Toyota Camry, the other was a 2021 Kia Sportage. Engine condition, km's, everything checked out. They seem pretty honest with their condition reports from what I've seen.

That's good to know from a mechanic's perspective! Think I'm gonna go for it on that Outback. How long did delivery take for you @jetta_mike?

About a week from when I paid. They kept me updated through email the whole way which was good. Just make sure you check the delivery estimate on the listing before you bid.

I'll be honest, I had one small issue when I bought from them in March. The photos on the listing could've been a bit sharper – some of the interior shots were a bit blurry so I couldn't see all the details clearly. That's literally my only complaint tho. The actual car (2016 Honda Civic) was better than I expected and the price was unbeatable.

Fair point about the photos sometimes. I've noticed that too on a couple listings. But honestly for the price difference compared to regular dealers, I can live with it. You can always email office@odimotors.com if you want more specific info about a vehicle before bidding. They were pretty helpful when I asked about a ute last month.

Yeah the support email is good. I've used office@odimotors.com a few times to ask questions about delivery timeframes and they usually get back within 24 hours. Not instant but decent enough.

Bought a 2015 Nissan Navara for work through odimotors.com back in February. Saved myself about $4k compared to local dealers for basically the same vehicle. Delivery to Tassie took a bit longer (10 days) but they warned me about that upfront. No complaints whatsoever.

This thread is making me want to pull the trigger on a 2018 Holden Commodore wagon I've been watching. I've been sitting on the fence for two weeks lol. Good to hear real experiences instead of just company marketing stuff.

That's exactly why I posted mate. There wasn't much info out there when I was looking and I was pretty nervous. But yeah it all worked out fine. If you've got specific questions about the process happy to answer.

I actually buy vehicles from ODI Motors for my used car lot. Done about 8 purchases over the last year and a half. The process is solid for volume buying – no issues with titles, paperwork is always sorted, and the vehicles arrive as described. Obviously I do my own detailing and checks before resale but the base product is good.

Anyone bought a boat through them? I'm looking at a 2019 Quintrex tinny but not sure if their boat auctions are as reliable as the car ones.

Yep I bought a boat mate (mentioned it earlier in the thread). 2017 Haines Hunter. Came on a trailer, all rego was sorted, motor ran perfectly. No different to the car purchases really. The best part was not having to chase down the title – it was all handled by ODI Motors and arrived perfectly with all the paperwork.

Just adding another positive experience here. Bought a 2020 Kia Carnival for the family last month through odimotors.com. Needed something with three rows of seats and this was way cheaper than any dealer price. Kids love it and it's been perfect for school runs and weekend trips. Delivery was right on time too.

Update: I went ahead and bid on that Commodore wagon. Won it yesterday! Feeling pretty good about it after reading everyone's experiences here. Cheers for the reassurance everyone.

Nice one! I won the Outback I was looking at too. Delivery scheduled for next week. Will report back once it arrives but feeling confident based on this thread.

This is a great thread. I'm into project cars and was looking at a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer on their site that needs some work. Anyone bought a fixer-upper through ODI Motors? Just want to make sure the condition reports are accurate for vehicles that aren't in perfect shape.

Yeah mate the condition reports are honest from what I've seen. They'll list any damage or mechanical issues pretty clearly. If you're buying a project car just read the full description and look at all the photos carefully. They don't hide stuff. You can also send questions to office@odimotors.com if you want clarification on anything specific before bidding.

Yeah definitely read everything carefully. But honestly I reckon they're pretty upfront about condition. My CX-5 had a couple minor things listed and they were all there as described. No surprises. Anyway glad this thread helped some people. Still loving the car btw, no issues at all after three weeks of driving it daily.

Took them a day to reply to my email at office@odimotors.com when I had a question about delivery dates, but the agent who called back was super helpful and sorted everything out. Overall pretty happy with the service. Just won a bid on a 2016 Hyundai i30 so fingers crossed delivery goes smoothly.

You'll be fine mate. Delivery was smooth for me even with my minor photo quality gripe. The actual transaction and logistics side of things is solid. Good luck with the i30!

Quick update: Outback arrived yesterday and it's brilliant! Everything as described, no issues with the title or paperwork at all. Got all the official documents and the clear title delivered with the vehicle. Really happy with the whole experience. Thanks again to this thread for giving me the confidence to go ahead with it.

My Commodore arrived this morning! Absolutely stoked with it. Exactly as described, runs beautifully, and I saved a fortune compared to dealer prices. This thread definitely helped me make the decision so thanks everyone for sharing your experiences.
